LIFE Housing Mission Kerala issued detailed guidelines for the smooth conduct of house work completed beneficiaries meet at Block,Municipal & District level. Financial sanction is also allowed by LSGD for conducting the meet by LSGIs.

MahathmaGandhi NREGS Engineering Staff Appointment Criteria Revised

LSGD issued clarification regarding the appointment of Engineering Staff on Contract basis for Mahathma Gandhi NREGS in LSGIs. Interview committee were also constituted for various tires. The new directions will be applicable to new appointments only.

Annual Plan 2020-2021 LSGIs Directions Issued

Kerala Govt directed all Local Self  Govts to start preparation of annual plan for the financial year 2020-21. A special Development Seminar should be conducted for framing Disaster Management Plan by Local Bodies.The last date for approval from DPC was fixed as March 14th 2020.

LSGD issued notification revising the existing Kerala Panchayath Raj Buiding Rules 2011 and Kerala Municipal Building Rules 1999.The new rules have effect from November 2019.

PMAY(G) Houses to Newly Selected Beneficieries

Ministry Of  Rural Development permitted State Govts to distribute housing assistance to newly selected beneficiaries by Awaas Plus mobile app survey conducted in last February. For the inclusion of newly selected beneficiaries to the data base, every state have to delete the ineligible SECC beneficiaries through the Remand Module available in Awaas Software.

LSGD issued notification constituting  delimitation committee for re arranging ward/division of local bodies. Elections to the Local Self Govt Institutions will be conducted on October 2020.

6th State Finance Commission Constituted

VIth State Finance Commission  constituted under the chairmanship of Sri S.M.Vijayanand, former Chief Secretary of Kerala. The Commission has the mandate to review the financial position of the Panchayats and Muncipalities and make recommendations. Sri T.K.Jose, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Government,LSGD and Sri Manoj Joshi, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, FinanceDepartment were the members.

General Education Department issued revised guidelines for the procurement and installation of IT equipment in schools. The directions were also applicable to purchase by local self govt institutions.

Mahathma Gandhi NREGS Assistance - Upper Cap Fixed

As per the directions given in the Annual Master Circular,State Govt decided to fix the  upper cap for the quantum of assistance given to individual beneficiaries in MahathmaGandhi NREGS. For ST beneficiaries maximum limit is Rs.6 lakhs, for SC beneficiaries maximum Rs.5 lakhs and for other category maximum of Rs.4 lakhs per annum.
